Description
Every stone in The Vault is graded across five dimensions. Use this guide to understand what each specification means.
Clarity
Clarity describes the presence of internal characteristics (inclusions) and surface characteristics (blemishes) within the stone.
Colour Grade
Tanzanite is trichroic — it shows different colours from different angles. Grading reflects the dominant hue and its saturation intensity.
Cut
The cut shape determines how light moves through the stone. Each silhouette carries a distinct character.
Carat Weight
One metric carat equals 0.2 grams. For Tanzanite, size dramatically affects rarity — the colour and clarity of a large stone intensify in ways a small stone cannot replicate.
Metal
The choice of metal shapes how Tanzanite’s colour reads in different light conditions.
